Cast as JK Rowling in a Fringe show which “had Edinburgh running scared” (The Telegraph) one actress is thrust into global controversy. What should have been her big break becomes an implosion, as international press and backstage chaos collide. This is a scathing satire of the theatre industry’s hunger for controversy and commercialisation of identity politics. As her career unravels in real time, she’s forced to confront her own beliefs and complicity, all while trying to hold it together as a parent back home. Rowling In It is for anyone who has ambitiously failed, stuttered into the microphone in front of Sky News… and is still ABSOLUTELY FINE.
Directed by Dominic Shaw (Pretty Woman: The Musical, UK Tour); The Devil Wears Prada, Associate Dir, West End) and performed by Laura K Bailey (Still recovering) this sizzling comedy is not to be missed.
